Pirates of the Caribbean earns $800 million globally

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides has crossed the $800 million mark at the Worldwide Box Office on Monday. Now, the trade analysts think that Johnny Depp starrer could ultimately cross $1 billion in total grosses. With total collection of $807 million, the latest installment of Pirates series has become the biggest movie of the year.

On Stranger Tides has grossed $614.9 million overseas market in three weeks. The movie is expected to surpass the $654 million earned by threequel Pirates of the Caribbean: At World"s End by this weekend. The trade analyst say that it could ultimately earn $750 million overseas.

However, the performance of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is not good in domestic market. This film is likely to be the lowest grossing Pirates movie domestically. It has earned $192.1 million so far. Box office observers believe that the film will earn maximum of $250 million, whereas the previous three installment collected of $300 million.
