Poet Kalam for inspirational poems

Kolkata, Feb 2 (PTI) Former scientist President A P JAbdul Kalam, also known for his 22 inspirational poems inliterary circle, today called for good poetical works topursue life with integrity.

"Today, the nation needs good poetical works to guidepeople to have righteousness and integrity," Kalam said whilelaunching Pritish Nandy''s new book of poems ''Again'' here.

"Music is born out of poems, poems are born out ofthoughts and thoughts spring from creative minds. Sometimes Iask myself how the planet would look without music and songs.

Music and songs are born out of great minds of the poets,"said Kalam.

On his "love, affection and admiration" for poets,the ''Missile Man of India'' said "poems cross borders, oceans,continents and even planets."

59-year-old Pritish Nandy, who bagan his career as apoet and was conferred ''Padmashri'' when he was only 26year-old, became an eminent journalist and successful filmproducer later in his life. PTI NIK PR
