Salt sequel being developed by Sony Pictures

Angelina Jolie starrer Salt has become a big hit at the worldwide Box Office. So the bosses at Sony Pictures have now planned to develop a sequel to the movie Salt. Sources say that Kurt Wimmer is currently writing the script for the movie. Meanwhile, the filmmakers are also said to be in talks with Angelina Jolie for the lead role.

Film Salt, which was released in 2010, is all about Evelyn Salt, a CIA agent, whose loyalty is tested when a defector accuses her of being a Russian spy. She uses all her skills and experience as a covert operative to elude capture. Actress Angelina Jolie has played the role of Evelyn Salt and her performance has got lots of accolades from film critics.

However, the revenge drama featured Liev Schreiber, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Zoe Lister Jones, Yara Shahidi, Victor Slezak and Gaius Charles in the supporting roles. Directed by Phillip Noyce, the action film Salt has earned $118 million at the domestic Box Office and nearly $300 million worldwide.
