Many
Hollywood
stars
have
expressed
their
concerns
over
the
plight
of
people
of
Japan
after
the
country
was
devastated
by
earthquake
and
tsunami.
They
donated
huge
amount
of
money
for
the
tsunami
victims
in
Japan
besides
urging
their
fans
to
help.
Latest
to
join
the
league
of
such
stars
is
actress
Sandra
Bullock.
The
Oscar
winning
star
has
donated
1
million
dollars
to
the
American
Red
Cross
to
help
victims
of
the
devastating
earthquake
and
tsunami
in
Japan.
"The
American
Red
Cross
is
extremely
grateful
for
this
generous
support
from
Sandra
Bullock
and
her
family," the
New
York
Daily
News
quoted
the
Red
Cross'
statement.
However,
Japan
has
been
rattled
by
the
9.0
magnitude
earthquake,
horrifying
tsunami
and
nuclear
crisis.
Now,
lot
of
money
is
needed
to
re-establish
the
the
country
and
Sandra
Bullock's
hefty
contribution
is
the
largest
known
donation
to
the
Red
Cross.
Its
statement
added,
"This
contribution
is
vitally
important
as
the
Red
Cross
works
to
provide
critical
assistance
and
essential
relief
items
in
this
time
of
urgent
need
for
so
many
people
in
Japan."
