'The
Kennedys'
was
to
be
aired
on
the
History
Channel
in
the
US,
but
it
was
cancelled
due
to
the
complaints
over
its
historical
accuracy.
This
controversial
TV
series,
which
was
also
declined
by
many
other
broadcasters,
is
now
all
set
to
be
screened
on
BBC
2
later
this
year.
According
to
BBC2
controller
Janice
Hadlow,
'The
Kennedys'
is
'a
perfect
fit'
for
the
channel.
It
would
screen
the
eight-part
series
in
May
or
June.
"It
has
a
very
particular
flavour
and
we
are
delighted
to
have
this
new
addition
to
our
schedules," the
BBC
quoted
Hadlow
as
saying.
Meanwhile,
'The
Kennedys' is
scheduled
to
premiere
in
the
UK
on
7
April,
and
on
History
TV
in
Canada
on
April
10,
2011.
It
was
to
be
first
broadcast
on
History
in
the
US
in
January
2011,
but
it
was
announced
that
the
US
History
channel
will
not
show
the
series.
After
various
other
broadcasters
declined
to
pick
up
the
mini-series,
the
US
rights
were
purchased
by
ReelzChannel.
However,
'The
Kennedys'
is
an
upcoming
eight-hour
mini-series
chronicling
the
lives
of
the
famous
Kennedy
family
and
the
tragedies
they
have
suffered.
It
will
star
Greg
Kinnear,
Katie
Holmes,
Barry
Pepper,
and
Tom
Wilkinson
among
others;
and
is
directed
by
Jon
Cassar.
