The Rite explores the exorcism world

There is a lot of confusion when it comes to Exorcism. Here, with the film The Rite, director Mikael Hafstrom brings to us the true picture of Exorcism. It speaks about the Rite of Exorcism. The Rite features Colin O'Donoghue, Academy Award winner Anthony Hopkins and Ciarán Hinds.

The trailer unwraps the story line of The Rite, which talks about an American priest, who is skeptical of religion and faith, travels to Rome to study at an exorcism school. The program is newly designed to teach the clergy the rite of exorcism. The film also introduces us to a Roman Catholic Bishop who has convened to respond to the growing demands for exorcism rites.

The Bishop introduces the American priest to the darker side of religion which is exorcism and possession. He says to him, “Choosing not to believe in exorcism, will not protect you from it." The Bishop explains that the early sign of possession is a constant tremor in one's body.

The film carries a theme of the Devil being a real and constant force for which we have to be prepared. The film is inspired by true events. The Rite, has a possessed kind of back drop with ruin monuments, possessed people, dead people, graveyards, etc.
