Tom Cruise signs sci-fi Oblivion

Actor Tom Cruise has been signed to play the key role in upcoming film Oblivion. The science-fiction is directed by Joseph Kosinski.

The Mission Impossible star will be seen as a lone soldier on an apocalyptic future version of Earth. “Set in a future where the Earth"s surface has been irradiated beyond recognition and the remnants of humanity live above the clouds, safe from the brutal alien Scavengers that stalk the ruins", reports aceshowbiz.com.

The actor discovers a woman after which the the mystery of chain of events open up, which finally makes him to quiz everything he knows. The movie is a screen-adaptation of Arvid Nelson's novel by the same name.
