British
actor
Tom
Hardy,
who
was
last
seen
in
Blockbuster
movie
Inception,
has
suffered
several
injuries
on
the
sets
of
his
upcoming
action
flick
Warrior.
According
to
the
Inception
star,
the
movie
has
some
brutal
fighting
sequences.
He
says
that
he
wanted
to
give
a
realistic
touch
to
these
stunts.
While
shooting
for
them,
he
tore
ligaments
in
his
hand,
broke
a
toe
and
cracked
his
ribs.
Tom
Hardy
plays
a
mixed
martial
art's
student
in
Warrior.
The
actor
was
determined
to
make
the
fight
as
realistic
as
possible,
which
made
him
suffer
several
painful
injuries
on
the
sets.
Talking
to
the
Empire
magazine,
Tom
says,
"It
was
all
a
concern.
I'm
not
a
fighter,
not
at
all.
So
for
me
it
was
a
challenge.
Could
I
achieve
that
kind
of
physicality
and
convince
anybody
in
any
way
that
I
might
possibly
be
a
fighter?
That
was
the
challenge."
Warrior
is
about
mixed
martial
arts
and
revolves
around
a
former
boxer
(Nick
Nolte),
whose
alcoholism
tore
apart
his
family,
welcomes
back
his
youngest
son
(Tom
Hardy)
and
trains
him
to
compete
in
a
mixed
martial
art's
tournament
–
a
path
that
puts
the
son
on
a
collision
course
with
his
older
brother
(Joel
Edgerton).
Directed
by
Gavin
O'Connor,
the
film
will
be
released
by
Lionsgate
on
September
9,
2011.
