Director
Michael
Bay's
latest
movie
Transformers:
Dark
of
the
Moon,
which
has
hit
the
theatres
on
June
29,
is
expected
to
gross
at
least
$38
million
on
its
opening
day.
The
collection
of
the
move
is
very
less
when
compared
to
Transformers:
Revenge
of
the
Fallen.
But
the
3D
tentpole
is
still
getting
the
best
first-day
earning
of
2011.
Transformers:
Revenge
of
the
Fallen,
which
was
released
on
24th
June
2009,
had
raked
in
$62
million
on
its
opening
day.
Transformers:
Dark
of
the
Moon
cannot
break
this
record,
but
it
is
sure
to
beat
the
figures
set
by
Pirates
of
the
Caribbean:
On
Stranger
Tides,
which
debuted
to
$34.8
million.
Trade
analysts
think
that
the
movie
will
definitely
pick
up
as
the
July
4th
holiday
weekend
gets
underway.
However,
Paramount
Pictures
is
very
happy
with
the
performance
of
Transformers:
Dark
of
the
Moon
because
it
is
doing
very
well
in
3D
locations
when
compared
to
other
3D
pics
of
this
summer
season.
Revenge
of
the
Fallen
had
grossed
$200
million
in
the
first
five
days
of
its
release.
Now,
Paramount
hopes
that
Transformers
3
will
earn
$155
million
to
$170
million
through
July
4th.
