George Clooney to host Obama fundraiser

Hollywood’s superlative smooth-as-silk lady killer, George Clooney, is a revered humanitarian and Obama advocate. To show his support, Clooney has agreed to host an exclusive fundraiser dinner party for the US president on May 10, in a bid to boost his re-election campaign.

The Ides of March star will welcome President Obama and 150 of his supporters. The Guests are expected to shell out $40,000 per ticket for the event held at Clooney's Los Angeles, California pad. The soiree will be co-hosted by DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg. All proceeds will be donated to the Obama Victory fund and Clooney insists he's thrilled about opening up the doors of his home for the occasion.

Clooney, a longtime activist for human rights in Sudan, was arrested during a peaceful protest outside the Sudanese Embassy in Washington, DC, on March 16. His arrest came a day after he met with Mr Obama at the White House to discuss the ongoing crisis.
