Fast & Furious 6 first weekend collection at Indian Box Office

Mumbai: Hollywood movie Fast & Furious 6 starring Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson and Michelle Rodriguez in leads, has done a fantabulous performance at the Indian Box Office in the first weekend. The Justin Lin-directed film has topped the collection chart in the country, beating two big Hindi releases - Ishkq In Paris and Hum Hai Raahi CAR Ke.

Like James Bond and Spider Man series, Fast & Furious is another popular franchise in the country and its sixth installment received very good response in the paid previews on Thursday. With a good word of mouth playing its magic, the movie, which released in 1,200 screens in the country, opened to very good response with its occupancy ranging between 65% and 75% on Friday. It made record breaking collection on the first day.

Fast & Furious 6, which became one of the biggest Hollywood openers in the country, showed 10% growth in its business on Saturday and another 7% on Sunday. The latest installment of Fast & Furious has collected Rs 21.55 crores nett at the Indian Box Office in its opening weekend. Its breakup is Rs 1.85 cr on Thu previews, Rs 6.02 cr on Fri, Rs 6.63 cr on Sat and Rs 7.05 cr on Sun.

However, The Amazing Spider Man, which hit the screens on June 29, 2012, has become all time highest grosser Hollywood movie in India. Its first weekend collection had crossed Rs 29.10 crores nett in the country. Now, Fast & Furious 6 has landed in the second place with its wonderful collection.
