Rachael Leigh-Daniel Gillies Welcomes Baby Girl

Actor Daniel Gillies has confirmed that he and his actress wife Rachael Leigh Cook have welcomed their first child.

Gillies took to Twitter on Sunday, September 29, a little before 7 p.m. ET to reveal that they have become parents to a daughter, reports contactmusic.com. "It's a girl. The tiny new empress of my everything. She's immaculate. We're delirious," he tweeted.

Cook and Gillies married in 2004. Rachael Leigh Cook, who made her mark in Hollywood with the teen film She's All That, married Gillies, 37, in 2004. It was in May that the two made an announcement regarding Cook's pregnancy.

In response to the flow of well wishes, the actress had tweeted, "Thanks for the love you guys." Gillies added, "Thank you everyone. We are delighted."

The two were evidently looking forward to the birth of their baby. Speaking to a US weekly, Cook said, "I've been hiding my rapidly growing bump while shooting but this kiddo is vying for screen time. We clearly have a future actor on our hands."

Added Gillies, "A lot of people are asking whether I'd prefer a boy or a girl. In truth, it doesn't matter to me - I just can't wait to meet little Keanu Robocop."

Some time back, Gossip Cop had previously reported on Friday that the Perception actress had given birth to a baby boy. However, they received exclusive confirmation that the claims were false. Gillies too dismissed the report as nothing but baseless rumour.
