So who is the Sexiest Man Alive at the moment? No it is not Bradley Cooper or Ryan Gosling. Leaving all behind, People magazine crowned Chris Hemsworth as the Sexiest Man Alive for 2014.

The handsome and robust actor with his trademark long hair has won the hearts of millions with his looks and has thus been voted People's Sexiest Man Live for 2014. The actor is gracing the magazine's this week issue with the cover screaming, 'Chris Hemsworth: SEXIEST MAN ALIVE!'

He beat out other sexy celebs like Zac Efron, Matt Damon and Chris Pratt to get the top spot. 2013's winner was Maroon 5 singer, Adam Levine. Chris Hemsworth will be next seen in Avengers: Age Of Ultron and In The Heart Of The Sea. The father of three says the honour just might get him out of diaper duty.

The hammer-wielding Norse god in Avengers: Age of Ultron has left behind all the handsome hunks to win this title for 2014.

The Australian star thought it was "pretty funny" when he first heard the news - as did his wife, Spanish model, Elsa Pataky, 38, whom he wed in 2010.

"I think you've bought me a couple of weeks of bragging rights around the house," he tells PEOPLE in this week's cover story. "I can just say to her, 'Now remember, this is what the people think, so I don't need to do the dishes anymore, I don't need to change nappies. I'm above that. I've made it now.' "

As for that ripped body, Hemsworth, who puts on 20 lbs. of muscle for his role as Thor, says he tries to be disciplined when it comes to his diet and exercise but looks forward to his cheat days. "Then it's pizza, hamburgers, beer, sugary things," he adds. "Everything I'm not allowed to have!"
