Golden Globes 2015 Nominations, British Actors Lead

Finally the Golden Globe Awards 2015 nominations have been announced. Some of the bigger nominations at the award ceremony (Best Actor in a motion picture, drama) includes 3 British actors; Benedict Cumberbatch for The Imitation Game, Eddie Redmayne for The Theory of Everything and David Oyelowo is also nominated for Selma.

The British actors will go up against Steve Carrell for Foxcatcher and Jake Gyllenhaal for Nightcrawler. So, 3 English actors are competing for one that too major category which is Best Actor.

The Imitation Game and The Theory Of Everything are both up for best motion picture (drama), fighting against Boyhood, Foxcatcher and Selma.

Coming to the television, British actor, Martin Freeman, bagged a best actor in a miniseries for his role in Fargo. He will fight against Woody Harrelson, Matthew McConaughey, Mark Ruffalo and Billy Bob Thornton.

English comedian Ricky Gervais got the best actor in a TV comedy nomination and is contending against Louis CK, Don Cheadle, William H Macy and Jeffrey Tambor.

Meanwhile, the 34-year-old British actress Joanne Froggatt has got Best supporting actress (TV) for Downton Abbey. She is competing with Uzo Aduba, Kathy Bates, Allison Janney and Michelle Monaghan.
