award

(BAFTA)
Scotland
Awards.
The
35-year-old,
who
was
nominated
for
the
best
actor
category
for
his
film
"Filth",
received
the
award
in
the
annual
award
show
on
Sunday.
Filth
is
an
adaptation
of
Irvine
Welsh's
novel
of
the
same
name.
The
film's
story
revolves
around
a
corrupt,
drug-taking
alcoholic
cop
played
by
McAvoy.
The
best
actress
film
award
was
received
by
Sophie
Kennedy
Clark
for
her
performance
in
"Philomena".Other
winners
included
David
Tennant,
who
took
the
Actor
Television
category
for
his
role
in
The
Escape
Artist.
Shirley
Henderson
won
the
Actress
Television
award
for
her
role
as
a
grieving
mother
in
Channel
4's
Southcliffe.
The
winners
of
the
British
Academy
Scotland
Awards
2014
were
unveiled
at
a
red
carpet
ceremony
at
Glasgow's
Radisson
Blu
Hotel.
Lorraine
Kelly
received
a
special
award
honouring
her
30-year
television
career.
Started
in
1989,
BAFTA
Scotland
is
the
Scottish
branch
of
the
British
Academy
of
Film
and
Television
Arts.
