Jennifer Lawrence Contacts Authorities After Her Nude Pics Leak Online

After some of the private nude pics of Oscar winning actress, Jennifer Lawrence were leaked on the web, the actress has been horrified. The FBI and Apple which operates the online file storage service iCloud said on Monday that they are inquiring into allegations after online accounts of celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence and others were hacked. The naked photos of A-listers like Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton and Ariana Grande leaked online on Aug. 31 after they appeared on a 4chan thread by a Web hacker.

The FBI said in a statement it is "aware" of the hacking allegations and is "addressing the matter." Horrified and worried actress Jennifer Lawrence contacted authorities after the images went viral on the web. Her publicist confirmed in a statement that the images were of Lawrence, and condemned their release.

"This is a flagrant violation of privacy," Lawrence's publicist Liz Mahoney wrote in a statement. "The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence."

Another victim Kate Upton's attorney said in a statement to TMZ that the incident was an "outrageous violation" of their client's privacy. "We intend to pursue anyone disseminating or duplicating these illegally obtained images to the fullest extent possible,"they added.

The source of the leaked pics is not confirmed so the authenticity of many pics of stars couldn't be confirmed. Rep of Ariana Grande has said that her leaked pics are fake.

Apple Inc. spokeswoman Natalie Kerris said the company is investigating if any iCloud accounts has been tampered. "We take user privacy very seriously and are actively investigating this report," she said.

Meanwhile, Actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead whose nude pics were also leaked on 31st August confirmed by tweeting on Twitter, "To those of you looking at photos I took with my husband years ago in the privacy of our home, hope you feel great about yourselves."

It is really sad to see the private lives of stars getting hacked and leaked on the web.
