rumoured
to
have
been
finalised
for
the
remake
of
English-language
remake
of
Oscar-winning
Argentine
thriller
"Secret
in
Their
Eyes".
She
now
joins
Chiwetel
Ejiofor
and
Gwyneth
Paltrow
have
also
been
cast
in
director
Billy
Ray's
revamp
of
the
Juan
Jose
Campanella
movie,
which
was
crowned
Best
Foreign
Film
at
the
Academy
Awards
in
2009.
IM
Global,
which
is
fully
financing
the
project,
is
selling
the
rights
to
the
project
at
the
ongoing
Toronto
International
Film
Festival.
The
original
film
cast
two
male
leads
and
one
female
lead,
but
when
Roberts
expressed
her
interest,
Ray
has
apparently
swapped
one
of
the
gender-based
roles
to
fit
the
actress
into
the
project.
The
original,
which
was
directed
by
Campanella
and
starred
Ricardo
Darin,
was
based
on
the
Eduardo
Sacheri
novel
about
a
romance
between
a
retired
judiciary
employee
and
a
judge
who
work
to
solve
a
1974
rape
and
murder
two
decades
after
it
took
place.
Mark
Johnson
will
produce
the
project
along
with
John
Ufland.
The
remake,
described
as
a
sophisticated
crime
thriller,
is
scheduled
to
start
production
this
fall.
