Natalie Portman To Star In Danny Boyle's Steve Jobs?

Oscar-winner Natalie Portman is reportedly in early talks to star in Universal's biopic of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs. The actress is likely to join lead actor Michael Fassbender, who is playing Jobs in the Danny Boyle-directed film, said the Hollywood Reporter.

Natalie is reportedly going to play the role of Joanna Hoffman, who was the head of marketing for the Mac team.

Sony Pictures had been working on developing the project, written by Aaron Sorkin, before Universal picked up the film. Many stars including Christian Bale and Leonardo DiCaprio were attached to play Jobs at various phases but the role finally went to Fassbender.

Oscar-winning Director Danny Boyle's Steve Jobs is making a lot of headlines over casting. Earlier, Christian Bale was speculated to have been selected to play Steve Jobs. However, Bale walked out. According to a source, the Oscar-winning actor felt that he was not the right choice for the role and finally decided to withdraw his name.

The film was about to go on the floor this winter. "Bale, after much deliberation and conflicting feelings, came to the conclusion he was not right for the part and decided to withdraw," a source said.

"The script is said to be divided into three acts that detail Jobs preparing for three presentations that came to define his life and the life of the company he co-founded, lost and came back to," added the source.

Earlier Ashton Kutcher has played the role of the businessman in the 2013 release, 'Jobs'.
