New York Film Critics Awards 2014 Winning Films That Got Noticed

New York Film Critics Awards 2014 marked big win for 'Boyhood'. The awards are considered a bellwether for the Oscars, which will air on 22 February in 2015. While hit movies which are also making Oscar buzz like 'Boyhood', 'The Imitation Game' etc are already there, some unnoticed movies in Hollywood which won prizes at the New York Film Critics Awards 2014 came to light.

For example, The Immigrant did not get much noticed but it won some awards at the ceremony that was recently conducted. New York Film Critics Circle has definitely increased the pace of Boyhood for the Oscar run as the movie ruled the evening with majority of awards.

However, we decided to take a look at some of the unnoticed Hollywood movies which came and went with a blink of an eyelid but deserves to be noticed. For example, Marion Cotillard's win highlighted two movies in the evening. Marion won Best Actress award for her roles in 'The Immigrant' and 'Two Days, One Night'.

Animated movie, 'The Lego' also won best animated film. Other winners at New York Film Critics Circle Awards 2014 includes 'Ida' which won the best foreign film. 'Citizenfour', about US intelligence whistleblower Edward Snowden, won for best documentary film.

So, here is a look at some of the movies of 2014 which got noticed at New York Film Critics Awards ceremony. The annual critics awards are typically viewed as a pre-cursor to the high-profile and coveted Academy Awards. We might see some names from this list making to the Oscar 2015 as well.
