Although they play a secondary role, their characters have a major impact in the story. There are some of the best movies of 2014 till now where we got to see some amazing work done by the supporting stars.

For example, Keira Knightley is creating a lot of Oscar buzz for this category after her performance in The Imitation Game won the critics. Keira has played Joan Clarke in the much anticipated movie which is a biopic based on Alan Turing, the World War II code breaker. While co-star Benedict Cumberbatch is garnering Oscar buzz for Best Actor, Keira with her role as Joan is also getting lots of accolades.

On the other side, we have Kristen Stewart who might contend for the Best Supporting Actress category at the upcoming Oscar 2015. Kristen plays Julianne Moore's daughter Lydia Howland in the much talked about movie, Still Alice. Julianne too might get nominated for the Best Actress at the 87th Academy Awards.
