Like every year, Oscar 2015 nominations for Best Original Song is going to be very tricky and a hard pick! With talented artists like Lorde, Grouplove to name a few, the contenders for the Best Original Song are brilliant and strong.

Every year, The Academy Award honour the songwriters who have composed the best original song written specifically for a film. The performers of a song are not credited with the Academy Award unless they contributed either to music, lyrics or both in their own right. The category was introduced at the 7th Academy Awards, the ceremony honoring the best in film for 1934.

Oscar 2015 Predictions: Best Original Song Nominees

We have some soothing music, some romantic and some rebellious ones as well. For example, Lorde has sung a beautiful song, 'Yellow Flicker Beat' for The Hunger Games Mockingjay-Part 1 which reflects the rise of Katniss Everdeen played by Jennifer Lawrence. Then we have the romantic 'Let Me' In by Grouplove for The Fault In Our Stars.

So, we decided to take a look at some of the Oscar 2015 contenders for Best Original Song.

'Miracles' by Coldplay for Unbroken: Chris Martin's Coldplay band has sung an exclusive song, Miracles for Angelina Jolie directed Unbroken. The biopic is already creating a lot of Oscar buzz for several categories, Best Original Song being one. "Band just finished beautiful new song Miracles for the epic #Unbrokenmovie, directed by Angelina Jolie. PH" manager turned creative director Phil Harvey tweeted from the Coldplay's account.

'Yellow Flicker Beat' by Lorde for The Hunger Games Mockingjay-Part 1: New Zealand recording artist Lorde wrote this song with Joel Little. Yellow Flicker Beat was released as the lead single from the soundtrack. The lyrics of the track refer to the rise of The Hunger Games '​ rebel star, Katniss Everdeen.

'Mercy' by Patti Smith for Noah: Musical artist Patti Smith recorded an exclusive song with Kronos Quartet for director Daren Arronofsky's Noah. The video and song was shown at end of the movie with the credits complete with Bible verses.

'Let Me In' by Grouplove for The Fault In Our Stars: The romantic song is sung by the band, Grouplove. Although the movie which won many hearts is not making a big Oscar buzz, its song is definitely going to get a green signal for Academy Award for Best Original Song nominations.

'The Last Goodbye' by Billy Boyd for The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies: Three days back the music video of this heart touching song sung by Billy Boyd was released. The Last Goodbye is a heartbreaking song feels many which makes it a hot pick for the playlist.
