Sarah Hyland Choked By Ex Matt Prokop, Gets Restraining Order

Modern Family star Sarah Hyland is in trouble after ending her relationship with her ex-boyfriend, Matt Prokop. TMZ reports that her ex-boyfriend sent her 'vile, threatening and emotionally disturbing texts and voice mails including his own suicide threats,' due to which she has got a restraining order. The 23-year-old actress said in court papers that her ex Matthew Prokop had physically and verbally abused her for the last four years.

In a statement to PEOPLE, Hyland's attorney, Lee A. Sherman, confirmed that the Modern Family star, 23, got a court order against Matt Prokop.

"Out of respect for the court, the process and all parties, I have advised Ms. Hyland not to comment on the matter," Sherman said.

Sarah and Matt ended their 6 years relationship in August. The two first met during an audition for High School Musical 3 before co-starring in the Disney's Geek Charming.
