Cannes 2015: Aishwarya Rai & Eva Longoria Break 'Selfie' Rule At Red Carpet

Cannes 2015 red carpet was flooded with beauties from around the world. From Eva Longoria to Cate Blanchett, the Cannes Film Festival 2015 is a glamourous event.

On Day 5 of the ongoing Film Festival, we snapped Aishwarya Rai Bachchan bonding with Salma Hayek at a charity event during the day.

By evening, the 'Bride and Prejudice' actress walked the red carpet along with another L'Oreal ambassador, Eva Longoria.

The 'Desperate Housewives' star uploaded some pics along with the Former Miss World from the red carpet of Cannes 2015. "Me and the beautiful Aishwayra Rai and @chapuyc on our way to the Palais! @LorealParis #BecauseWeCannes #InsideCannes," Eva wrote along with a pic while posing with President. L' Oreal Paris, Chapuy Cyril and Ash.

However, the stars took fun to another level when they clicked a selfie, which has been prohibited on the red carpet of Cannes.

While attending the Cannes premiere of Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara starrer, 'Carol', Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Eva Longoria clicked selfies on the red carpet.

The very socially active Eva Longoria also took a selfies from the red carpet alone while Aishwarya arrived. Sharing a selfie with Ash walking the red carpet from behind, Eva wrote, "At the top of the Palais! Celebrating 10yrs with @lorealParis #Cannes2015 #BecauseWeCannes #InsideCannes."

Now the L'Oreal ambassadors have defied the rules set at Cannes this year.Cannes Festival director Thierry Frémaux has put a ban on selfies at the red carpet of the prestigious Film Festival. Thierry Frémaux even went ahead to call the selfies "ridiculous and grotesque."

Marie-Pierre Hauville, director of communications for the festival said, "In order to make it all work smoothly, we cannot accept people blocking the ceremony for their own purposes," highlighting the festival's focus on films, filmmakers and artists and not the red carpet glam.

However, Eva Longoria and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan loved their reunion and was so carried away, that they broke the rule.
