Dan Stevens To Play Beast in 'Beauty and the Beast', Joins Emma Watson

Buzz is that Dan Stevens is all set to play the Beast in 'Beauty & the Beast'. Dan Stevens is in negotiations to play the The Beast/Prince in Beauty and the Beast, THR reports.

The 32-year-old 'The Guest' actor will play opposite Emma Watson who is playing Belle. A day before, it was announced that Luke Evans will play villain, Gaston, in the Disney movie.

Bill Condon is set to direct the Disney film which will bring the animated classic on the big screen. David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman are producing the movie.

Beauty and the Beast is a French fairy tale, tells of a young woman who takes her father's place as a prisoner in a monstrous being's castle, only to fall in love with the creature, who turns out to be a prince.

Excited 'Harry Potter' star, Emma Watson showed her love for the movie when she was confirmed to play Belle on her Facebook account. She posted, "It was such a big part of my growing up, it almost feels surreal that I'll get to dance to 'Be Our Guest' and sing 'Something There.' ... Time to start some singing lessons."

Playing the Beast in this Disney movie might be a big step for Dan Stevens who played supporting roles in 'Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb' and 'A Walk Among the Tombstones'.
