Neil Patrick Harris is the first time Oscar host who is ready to take over the stage and night with his talent and skills on Feb. 22 at the Dolby Theater.
The 'Gone Girl' star recently revealed on The Ellen Show that he is a little worried and getting nightmares over the host's Oscar selfie in 2014 which broke the internet.
Well, we can't disagree more as Ellen DeGeneres was one of the best Oscar hosts we saw over a decade. The talented comedian hosted Oscars 2014 for the second time and with her very opening straight-up monologue, Ellen burst the audience into fists of laughter and claps. No wonder Ellen does it best, making the stars relax while viewers enjoy the entertainment.
From taking the infamous Oscar selfie to making a joke of Jennifer Lawrence's Oscar trip in 2013 and 2014, Ellen with her hosting skills made 2014 Oscars worth watching.
Oscar 2014 host, Ellen DeGeneres started the evening by talking on the weather. "For those of you watching around the world, it's been a tough couple of days for us. It has been raining. We're fine. Thank you for your prayers."
Later she went to the first time Oscar nominees, joked about racism when pointing first Oscar nominee and winner, Lupita Nyong'o.
Before Neil Patrick Harris takes his position on the stage of the Oscars this year, lets rewind the best Oscar 2014 moments by host, Ellen DeGeneres.
In the opening monologue, Ellen starts with weather saying, "For those of you watching around the world, it's been a tough couple of days for us. It has been raining. We're fine. Thank you for your prayers."
Mentioning about the oldest Oscar nominee, Ellen said, "June Squibb is nominated for Nebraska. At 84 she is the oldest nominee. She was wonderful in Nebraska." Considering her age, Ellen shouts to make June hear, "I'M TELLING EVERYONE YOU WERE WONDERFUL IN NEBRASKA."
Her introduction to first time nominees
"Lupita Nyong'o is here. She is from Kenya. She is a Kenyan. Barkhad Abdi from Captain Phillips is here. He is nominated He is from Somalia. He is a sommelier. So he knows a lot about wine. Who's the wine captain now?!?!?"
On Meryl Streep
Talking about Oscar favourite who got her 18th nomination last year, Ellen said, "One of the nominees is her. And by ‘her' I mean Meryl Streep."
"I'm not saying movies are the most important thing in the world, because we all know the most important thing in the world is youth. But really, we know that the most important thing in life is love and friendship and family. And if people don't have those things, they usually get into show business. We are all one big, frightened family."
On Jennifer Lawrence
Ellen during her opening monologue at Oscars said that if Jlaw wins, she will bring the Oscar to her as Jennifer tripped last year. "If you win tonight, I think we should bring you the Oscar." Ellen also told everyone that Jennifer Lawrence stumbled on a parking cone on the way to this year's show.
Ellen said that everyone is looking beautiful and mentioned a few names like Cate and Sandra, but to her, "I'm not going to say who looks the most beautiful, but it's clear: It's Jared Leto."
Ellen took a dig at Jonah Hill's bare butt scene from Oscar nominated film, 'Wolf of Wall Street". She first started during opening monologue while talking about nominees. Ellen said, "Jonah Hill is nominated for his amazing performance in Wolf of Wall Street. Talking about his butt, she said, "Honestly I have to say, you showed something in that film that I have not seen for a very very long time." Later Ellen is seen beside his chair and telling "No, I don't want to see that" which was funny. Jonah too replied, "What's the big deal!"
After the first award of the night was given to Jared Leto for Best Supporting Actor, Ellen said that before going further, she will be tweeting throughout the night. Telling what she is looking at as ''incredible, Ellen decided to show people what she is looking at. "I will take a picture of myself looking at you, because how you look," and posted it with #oscars and #blessed.
Between Leonardo & Sandra Bullock
Ellen popped in between the stars during their conversation and said, "More Oscar surprises after this."
Keeping one winner and 4 nominees in mind, Ellen brought consolation prizes for the runners up as she did not want anybody to go home. Thus she gave Oscar nominee, Bradley Cooper lottery tickets! She even stroke a deal saying Bradley that if he wins, they will split it.
After taking a walk, Ellen tells that everyone is hungry and asks who would like to eat. Many stars raise their hands including Marty and then pregnant, Kerry Washington. Ellen declares that she will order some pizza. Ellen was not joking as she returned with Big Mamma's & Papa's Pizzeria pizza. Brad Pitt not only took a slice but also helped Ellen give it to others like Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep, Kevin Spacey and more.
Glinda the Good Witch
After Pink sang "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" at the Oscars 2014 as a tribute to Judy Garland in her role in the "Wizard of Oz", Ellen came dressed as Glinda the Good Witch in a pink dress. She came late and complained for not being called during the performance ina fun way.
Collected Money For Pizza
Ellen while distributing pizza said that she doesn't have any money so later she came up with the brown hat of Pharrell Williams to collect money from stars like Brad Pitt and Kevin Spacey who gave her a tip as well! Lupita had no cash so she gave her lip balm which Ellen kept in her pocket.
The Conclusion Joke
After Best Director award, Ellen came on the stage and thanked for letting her host. She then realised that the show is not yet over.

After the ad, Ellen was seen kneeling on the red floor beside Matthew and talking about his weight loss.
