The Oscar 2014 host admitted, "For me it was a goal to be on the David Letterman's Show. It is a big deal."

Ellen DeGeneres cherishes the experience she had at his talk show and said, "I was lucky enough to be on the show."

"I love you David, will miss you a lot," Ellen revealed in the message clip.

Earlier, Ellen also took to her Twitter page and wrote, "Tonight is David @Letterman's final show. What a wonderful, inspiring, hilarious, groundbreaking, amazing ride. #ThanksDave."
