The Oscar 2015 nominations list has many names who will compete against the best others to win the golden trophy.

We saw a lot of Oscar surprises and snubs even this year when the 87th Academy Awards nominations were announced. While Jennifer Aniston, Oprah Winfrey and many other were snubbed, we also saw fresh entries to the Oscar nominations list in the history.

Ever year, we get to see first time Oscar nominees who for their work get nominated. It is luck and hard work, but winning an Oscar nomination is like a dream come true.

This is what the first time Oscar nominees of 2015 might be feeling. Even this year, we got to see many new names in the nominations list.

Best Actor category has majority of new names. Apart from Bradley Cooper who got his third time Academy Award nomination in a row for Best Actor, we have all fresh entries. Eddie Redmayne, Michael Keaton, Steve Carell and Benedict Cumberbatch are the 4 new nominees this year at the Oscars.

Best Actress category is a mixed bag with some old Oscar nominees and winners as well as fresh names. Julianne Moore who is ruling this award season for her performance in 'Still Alice' has got her 5th Oscar nod. However, Julianne Moore never won any and might win this year, seeing her win at Golden Globes, SAG and Critics' Choice Awards.

Reese Witherspoon is another Best Actress nominee this year. It is her second Oscar nomination as she got her first in 2006 and even won it. However, Rosamund Pike, Felicity Jones, Emma Stone and Patricia Arquette are new entries.
