The wait is over as the 72nd Golden Globe Awards has started. Amazing hosts duo Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are back for the third year in a row. Playing with their wit and humour, Tina Fey and Amy started their opening act taking a dig at the celebrities and Golden Globe nominees for 2015.

Amy and Tina started with Emma Stone and moved on to Steve Carell for 'Foxcatcher'. Later, the duo went to Amal Clooney, George Clooney's wife and also joked about George yet again this year! The duo joked about George Clooney getting a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Talking about movies, Tina and Amy humoured about Golden Globe nominated movies namely, 'The Theory of Everything', 'Selma', 'Gone Girl', 'Into The Woods' and gave a brief yet funny description.

After talking about movies, the duo joked that they could not talk about television due to lack of time! However

The first award of the evening was presented by Golden Globe Best Actor, Benedict Cumberbatch. Benedict Cumberbacth presented Best performance by an actor in a supporting role in a motion picture which went to J. K. Simmons for 'Whiplash'.

Second award was presented by 'Fifty Shades of Grey' stars, Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson. Best Supporting Actress in All of Television went to Joanne Froggatt for 'Downton Abbey'.

Next award was for Best Mini-Series or TV Movie which was presented by Jennifer Lopez. The Golden Globe went to 'Fargo'. The presenters next presented Best Actor in a Movie Series, and the award went to Fargo's actor Billy Bob Thornton.

Golden Globe winner Collin Firth gave a brief description of Golden Globe nominated movie, 'The Imitation Game'.

Kerry Washington presented Best Actress TV Comedy which went to Gina Rodriguez for Jane the Virgin. Best TV Series- Comedy or Musical went to 'Transparent'.

Clive Owen presents Best picture in a motion drama nominee, 'The Theory of Everything'.

Best Actress in a motion picture- comedy or musical went to Amy Adams for Big Eyes. She won 2014 Best Actress Award for 'American Hustle'.

Presenters Salma Hayek and 'The Wedding Ringer' actor Kevin Hart presented Best Animated Feature Film and the award went to 'How To Train Your Dragon 2'.

Kate Hudson presented 'Into The Woods' on the stage wearing a plunging neckline white gown.

Jared Leto is on the stage to present Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture. Golden Globe 2015 award for Best Supporting Actress went to Patricia Arquette for 'Boyhood'.

The next category for the evening is for Best Screenplay for Motion Picture which went to Alejandro González Iñárritu for 'Birdman'.

Jane Fonda and Dolly Parton presented Best Actor in a TV series- comedy/musical to Jeffrey Tambor for 'Transparent'. The actor played a transgender woman in the show.

Best Actor in TV Series- Drama was swept away by Kevin Spacey for 'The House of Cards'. After getting nominated for the awards 8 times, he won it finally!

George Clooney finally gets his big Lifetime Achievement Award at Golden Globes 2015. A short clip on the career of George Clooney was shown. The American actor, writer, producer, director, and activist walked up the stage to receive his big Golden Globe Cecil B. DeMille Award. The talented star got a standing ovation. The newly wed actor thanked his wife, Amal Alamuddin aka Amal Clooney for her love. "It's a humbling thing to find someone to love. Amal, I couldn't be prouder to be your husband." He finishes with a description of the anti-terror march in Paris and signed off the stage saying "Je Suis Charlie."

Best Director for Motion Picture this year went to Richard Linklater for 'Boyhood'.

Next award for the evening is for Best Actress in a TV Series- Drama. And the Golden Globe went to Ruth Willson for 'The the Affair'. It is the second win for the TV series.

Academy award 2014 winner, Matthew McConaughey presented Best Actress in a Motion Picture- Drama and the evening's big award went to Julianne Moore for 'Still Alice'.

Gwyneth Paltrow presented Best Actor in a Motion Picture- drama and Eddie Redmayne for 'The Theory Of Everything'. The actor was up against Benedict Cumberbatch (The Imitation Game), Steve Carell (Foxcatcher), David Oyelowo (Selma) and Jake Gyllenhaal (Nightcrawler).
