Did Hilary Duff Lose Her Virginity to Joel Madden?

She has been the girl-next-door since the age of 14. We have seen Hilary Duff in movies and in music videos as well. However, the pretty Hollywood child star recently shed all the shyness and went bold to reveal her reality and some secrets about her famous 2004 romance.

In the April issue of Cosmopolitan, the Younger star, now 27, opened up about the public's perception and being an adult. Interestingly, she even hinted about the person whom she lost her virginity to.

In an interview with Cosmo, Hilary Duff, the ex-wife of Mike Comrie said, "I don't have to prove to people that I'm an adult now. I am an adult. It's frustrating to be put in a box, but I never needed to wild out to show that I'm grown-up."

Talking about her young naughty days and "eff buddy", the mom to son Luca, 2, revealed, "I've enjoyed myself. I think everyone should have something where you know it's not exactly what you're looking for but you just have a wicked good time. That was freeing for me and a bit of an awakening. It's fun to have a secret."

"I had a 26-year-old boyfriend," Duff said of Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden, whom she dated from for 4 years from the sweet age of 16 to 19. "So everyone can make their own assumptions about what I was doing." Joel Madden started dating Nicole Richie a month after split with Duff, and the couple are now married with two kids.

Talking about negative friends, she said, "At 19, I did a massive friend cleanse. That was really hard, to sit down with people and say ‘We can't be friends anymore.' They were like ‘That's f-ked up; you're a bitch.' But having a good reputation was important to me. That's not to say I didn't screw up and do little naughties here and there."On Aaron Carter's recent declarations of love for Hilary on Twitter, she replies, "Him reaching out through social media? It's ridiculous! But then people do it all the time, like Chris Brown and Karrueche? Come on, guys. Keep it between text messages."

Hilary who is now divorced spoke about marriage. She said, "I don't want to sound bitter because I'm definitely not, but I don't know if people are meant to be together forever. Things happen over a long relationship that you can't always fight. A marriage of 20 years, the accomplishment of that must feel really great, but there are also huge sacrifices. I just always want to fight for happiness."
