According to sources, production on the fifth installment of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise, which began last month on Australia's Gold Coast, is not expected to be overly impacted by Depp's injury and the release date is still set for July 7, 2017.

The 51-year-old will reprise his role of Captain Jack Sparrow in the upcoming film, which will also star Brenton Thwaites, Kaya Scodelario, and Javier Bardem who play the villain in this installment.

"Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" is co-directed by Espen Sandberg and Joachim Ronning.
