Excited and a little worried about being selected as the president to lead the Jury of 2016 Berlin Film Festivals, Meryl said, "It is a thrill to return to the festival under any circumstances, but it is with great relish and anticipation I look forward to jury duty,"
"The responsibility is somewhat daunting, as I have never been president of anything before, and I hope I can come up to the precedent set by the distinguished juries of preceding years. Grateful for the honor."
She thanked the committee for her new role. The actress has been to the film festival several times earlier on different occasions.
In 2003 she shared the Silver Bear award with Julianne Moore and Nicole Kidman for "The Hours"; and in 2012, the festival gave Streep a lifetime achievement award.
An alumna of Yale University, she studied drama in college. Apart from being an extremely good actress that she is, Meryl can play the Violin too.
She learnt how to play violin by practicing for 6 hours a day for 8 weeks for the lead of the famous movie; "The Music of the Heart".
