Miranda Lambert & Blake Shelton Announce Divorce After 4 Years of Marriage

We were trying to accept the divorce news of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner when another strong celebrity couple called it quits.

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton are the new celebrity couple who have split and are getting divorced. The singers are divorcing after being married for 4 years. TMZ first broke the news of their divorce and soon the couple released a joint statement confirming the separation.

"We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter."

According to TMZ, who first broke the story, Blake Shelton filed divorce papers a while ago. The couple have no children together but reportedly have a prenup. Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton tied the knot in front of family and friends in Texas back in May 2011.

Blake and Miranda were last photographed together at the 50th ACM Awards on Apr. 19 in Arlington, Texas. They appeared and even performed over the weekend but never showed any tension on their faces. Blake Shelton even sported his wedding ring which did not show any trouble in paradise.

The reason behind the divorce is said to be busy schedules and trust issues. "Their busy schedules were a big issue for them. They both worked a lot and had to spend a lot of time apart. The less time they spent together, the more they grew apart," a source told E! News.

"Trust was an issue for both of them. It went along with having to spend a lot of time apart. Rumors of infidelity put stress on them. Despite denials, even just rumors of cheating are still hard to hear."
