With a heavy heart, we have picked up a list of the next James Bond who are rumoured to take up the role of the robust British agent 007 role.

Buzz is that Daniel Craig is planning to step down from the franchise after 'Spectre' as the current James Bond. Daniel Craig's reign as James Bond might be coming to an end as the director of the 007 franchise has hinted that they will be moving on from the 46-year-old British actor.

If the handsome actor is planning to leave the 007 franchise, then the probable list of contenders is already doing the rounds.

Suggestions that Tom Hardy, Michael Fassbender, Hugh Jackman and Idris Elba are the rumoured list of actors to play the next James Bond. One new addition to the list is 'Homeland' star, Damian Lewis.

According to a report in the British tabloid Sunday Mirror, Damian has been "given an unofficial nod" that he would be the producers' first choice to play 007 if Daniel Craig step down as many are expecting him to. An unnamed source told the tabloid that Lewis is in if he wants the part.

Here is the current British secret agent James Bond 007 who kick started the role since 2005 in Casino Royale. His 4th Bond film, Spectre is releasing this year.

Idris Elba

If Daniel Craig does in fact step down as Bond, English actor Idris Elba is heavily tipped to be the first black 007. Former Bond, Pierce Brosnan said, "Yeah, he would actually. Colin Salmon also. May the best man get the job and may Daniel bring home the bacon for as long as he wants. Daniel has made his mark gloriously."
