2015 Oscars Snubs: Jennifer Aniston, Selma, Angelina Jolie & More

2015 Oscars nominations was a complete surprise. While some of the expected names were announced in several categories, we also had some surprises.

For example, The Grand Budapest Hotel has got 9 nominations this Oscars. Birdman too got 9 Oscar nominations including Best Picture. American Sniper and Interstellar finally got noticed and won some nominations for Oscars.

However, some of the unexpected movies like Selma were snubbed. Thus, the 87th annual Academy Awards nominations has proved that if you have made it to the Golden Globes and even won the trophy, it is not necessary to run the Oscar race as you might not succeed.

Selma, Unbroken, Cake and Big Eyes were some of the hit Hollywood movies which gathered a lot of Oscar buzz. However, Cake got zero nominations which took everyone by surprise. Best Picture nomination wasn't much expected but Jennifer Aniston was garnering Oscar buzz for her performance in the movie. Unfortunately, Jen did not make it to the Oscars this time.

Angelina Jolie too got rave reviews for her directorial movie, Unbroken. She neither got Golden Globe nor Oscar nomination for her war drama biopic.

Amy Adams took home a trophy for Best Actress at the Golden Globes, but didn't receive any nomination from the Academy for Big Eyes.

Big Eyes

Amy Adams won Golden Globe Best Actress award a few days back for her performance in the biopic. However, the movie did not get even a single nomination this year.

Selma

The biopic has been getting lots of accolades worldwide and President Barack Obama has also screened the movie today at The White House. However, the movie did not get many Oscar nods with just 2 nominations, Best Original Song and Best Picture. Surprisingly, it did not make it to Best Director or Best Actor as well.

Unbroken

Unbroken was completely snubbed at the Golden Globes. However, the movie got 3 Oscar nods for Best Cinematography, Best Sound Editing and Best Sound Mixing. We expected the world war drama to make it to the big categories like Best Director or Best Actor.

Cake

Jennifer Aniston has been snubbed completely this year at the Oscars with zero nominations. She was nominated for Best Actress at the Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild Awards, but at Academy awards, she is nowhere even after garnering so much buzz.

Nightcrawler

Jake Gyllenhaal earned SAG and Golden Globe nominations but failed to make it to the Oscars. Nigthcrawler only got one nomination that too for Best Original Screenplay.
