Russell Brand Slams Katy Perry On His Documentary By Calling Her Names

Russell Brand has said a few mean things about his ex-wife, Katy Perry in his new documentary called 'BRAND: The Second Coming'. He said his marriage to the singer was "Vapid" and "Vacuous". The comedian called Katy a "Plastic".

The documentary was shot when he and Katy were on the verge of getting a divorce. Brand said that, when he was in Africa during the spring of 2010, he questioned himself about his relationship with Katy Perry and realized that their values were different.

"The stuff in Africa hit me really hard," he said. "I'm associated with the very thing I detest: vapid, vacuous, plastic, constructed, mindless celebrity. That's the very sea we're swimming in, 'Oh, who's he?'...'He's married to Katy Perry'."

At some point in the documentary Russell tells his pal Stephen Merchant , "It's definitely good I'm with someone I love. But it's not a resolution to anything spiritual. This is my suspicion, that at some point, to be happy, I'm going to have to walk away."

One of the sources close to Katy told Grazia magazine that, "It hurts like hell for Katy to re-live her painful marriage like this. She feels vulnerable and embarrassed." The pop star hasn't made any comments regarding the documentary yet.

Apparently, Russell is now quite upset about the things he told about his ex-wife. Katy Perry and Russell Brand met in 2009 when they were shooting together. Shortly after that, the duo started dating and got engaged in 2010 on the New Year's eve.

The couple filed for a divorce in 2011. Shortly after the divorce, Russell Brand told Howard Stern that "We did work it out, she's happy, I'm happy. I was really, really in love with her, but it was difficult to see each other, it mostly didn't work for practical reasons."

Katy Perry revealed in her autobiographical documentary called, 'Katy Perry : A Part Of Me', that conflicting career schedules and not feeling ready to have children with him, led to the demise of their marriage.

Celebrity Divorces and changing relationship statuses among the Hollywood stars are not unusual. But most of the couples refrain from talking about their past as and when they move on. In Katy and Russell's case, their relationship became more popular after they ended it.

Nevertheless, words "Vapid" "Vacuous" and "Plastic" were uncalled for. It didn't just ruin Katy Perry's image, but also revealed to the world another side of Russell Brand who was famously known for the comedian who he is.
