SAG Awards 2015 Winners List: Birdman, Orange Is The New Black Lead

The 21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards was a gala event with Hollywood celebrities and A-listers coming together under one roof.

In this award season, some of the best movies are getting nominated and winning as well. From Birdman to Boyhood, we have some of the best films of 2014 which are getting honoured this award season.

The nominees were selected by 4,200 SAG members: 2,100 members who chose honorees in film, and the other half in television. The selection process for each category has been made by all 4,200 members.

At the SAG Awards 2015, Birdman has led with the biggest win (Best Picture) which is roaring the Oscar win buzz further. "This is the ultimate team sport, what we are doing for a living. Every time I turned around, I ran into another tremendous actor," said star Michael Keaton during the acceptance speech. "I'm proud to be a part of this group."

Eddie Redmayne bagged the Best Actor for his performance as Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything. Julianne Moore won the Best Actress for Still Alice.

Coming to TV, 'Orange is the New Black' and 'Downton Abbey' won big.

As expected, the talented actor, J.K. Simmons won for Whiplash. He said, "I feel like all of us actors are supporting actors. Each of us is not only supporting the story, the movie, the play, whatever it is we're doing, each of us is essential and completely crucial to the story. If there's one false moment the train comes off the rails and our willing suspension of disbelief Is gone and we have to earn it back. I would like to thank the 49 actors who appear on screen in Whiplash for realizing (director) Damien Chazelle's vision so beautifully."

Patricia Arquette wont the award for her performance in Boyhood. "My father Lewis Arquette taught me to approach work with compassion and gratitude, and also taught me how hard it is to make a living as an actor."

Downtown Abbey won the Best TV drama award. "The best bad boy/bad girl award ever," Downton actress Phyllis Logan said.

Kevin Spacey was honoured with the award for outstanding male actor in a drama for House of Cards.

Viola Davis won the female actor in a drama award, for How to Get Away with Murder. Thanking producer Shonda Rhimes and others for "thinking that a sexualized, messy, mysterious woman could be a 49-year-old dark-skinned African-American who looks like me," Viola accepted the award.
