Scarlett Johansson on John Travolta's Oscar Kiss: "His Kiss Was 'Welcome''

John Travolta shocked everyone including Scarlett Johansson when he landed a peck on the soft lips of the sultry bombshell at the Oscars 2015 red carpet. The actor also placed his hand on the gorgeous actress' waist.

At that moment, the 'Lucy' actress gave a side-eye look which made us think that she was not liking the antic of John Travolta at the Oscars 2015 red carpet when she was posing for the cameras.

However, the actress has now opened up about the John Travolta's kiss incident which made news on Sunday. Scarlett said in a statement on Thursday that there was nothing wrong with the kiss Travolta planted on her cheek at the Oscars red carpet.

"There is nothing strange, creepy or inappropriate about John Travolta," Johansson told The Associated Press, her comment coming in response to the aforementioned online hubbub that ensued. "He is a true class act and everyone in the business would agree."

"The image that is circulating is an unfortunate still-frame from a live-action encounter that was very sweet and totally welcome. That still photo does not reflect what preceded and followed if you see the moment live. Yet another way we are misguided, misinformed and sensationalized by the 24-hour news cycle. I haven't seen John in some years and it is always a pleasure to be greeted by him."

Scarlett Johnasson and John Travolta worked together in 2004's release,'A Love Song for Bobby Long' for which she even received a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actress.

Apart from dropping a kiss at Scarlett Johansson's face, John Travolta later got touchy with Idina Menzel by touching her face while they were presenting Best Original Song award at the Oscars.
