Stephen Hawking Congratulates Eddie Redmayne On Oscar Win

Eddie Redmayne won the Best Actor Oscar at the 87th Academy Awards which was held yesterday at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, Los Angeles.

The British actor won his first Oscar nomination for his performance as physicist Stephen Hawking in the biopic, The Theory of Everything.

After Eddie Redmayne won the Oscar award for Best Actor, Stephen Hawking congratulated the actor for playing him in the biopic and winning an Oscar. Stephen took on to social networking site, Facebook to share his feelings. He wrote,

Eddie Redmayne in his Oscar acceptance speech said, "I'm fully aware that I am a lucky, lucky man. This Oscar belongs to all of those people around the world battling ALS. It belongs to one exceptional family: Stephen, Jane and the Hawking children. I will be his custodian. I will be at his beck and call. I wait on him hand and foot."

The British actor backstage said after his first Oscar nomination and win that he will thank the physicist and his family for all the support. "They have been so kind to us throughout this process," he backstage for playing the physicist in his first Oscar-winning role. "Our responsibility to tell their story truthfully and authentically - we felt it."

After Oscars, Eddie Redmayne is back to shooting films and is shooting The Danish Girl.

Eddie Redmayne has won Golden Globe, SAG and an Oscar for playing Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything. Felicity Jones played his first wife, Jane Hawking.
