Upcoming Hollywood Movies of 2015 Based On True Events

While film industry is flooded with fiction works and lots of supernatural and fantasy films, non-fiction films also hold a special place and make it count every award season. It is fun and entertaining to watch imaginative work on the big screen, but it is also important to know how some true events occurred and effected lives.

Like every year, 2015 is also lined with some of the anticipated Hollywood movies based on true stories. Some of the Hollywood movies releasing this year (based on true stories) include The Walk, Pawn Sacrifice, Black Mass, Steve Jobs and many more.

While the first quarter of the year is over with the release of some biopics, we still have a few months left for the best. From Legend (which deals with the rise and fall of the Kray twins) to Truth (based on the Killian documents controversy), we have some of the anticipated Hollywood movies based on true events which will release before the Oscars 2016.

Some of the Hollywood movies of 2015 based on true events have gathered too much attention. For example, British-French biographical drama film, The Program is about Lance Armstrong and is based on Walsh's book 'Seven Deadly Sins'.

Then we have the biopic of Steve Jobs yet again but this time, it is coming from Oscar winning director, Danny Boyle. A few movies have already started garnering Oscar buzz and are one of the front runners post the film festival season's rave reviews.

Inspired by true events, the movie shows Suffragette movement of women, Britain's long and violent journey toward granting women the right to vote in the early 20th century. Starring Meryl Streep and Carey Mulligan, the movie will hit in October this year.

The Walk

Joseph Gordon-Levitt portrays the high-wire artist, Philippe Petit. The true story shows Petit's 1974 attempt to cross the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center.

Danny Boyle has cast Michael Fassbender as Jobs in the biopic which releases on 9th October. It is based on a screenplay written by Aaron Sorkin, which was adapted from Walter Isaacson's biography Steve Jobs.
