But, the 42 years old American Hustle actor has put his body through both hell and heaven. From extreme weight loss to tremendous weight gain, Christian has done everything for his movies.
In 2004, the actor lost 63 pounds in less than four months for his role in the movie The Machinist. Where he was depicted as a person suffering from insomnia.
This is when he punished his body to a very high level to shed weight. Besides cutting his diet down only to an apple and a can tuna, he exercised vigorously.
He chewed gums, smoked cigarettes and drank a lot of black coffee. Once in a while, Christian followed Anne Hathaway's diet plan and had strips of dried oats.
He reduced to such an extent that it became impossible to recognize him. His bones popped through his skin and he became so weak that he couldn't walk for more than a minute!
While this was the story of his weight loss, just withing six months after filming The Machinist, Christian had to buff up and gain muscle weight for his next movie Batman.
The actor was successful in doing so, too. His weight went crossed 200 pounds. Later, he had to reduce to 190 pounds as insisted by the director for his role.
But, the only time Christian transformed his body without punishing it was for the movie American Hustle. He had loads of junk food everyday, mostly cheese burgers and gained 40 pounds.
