Dove Cameron And Ryan McCartan Break Up After Engagement

Actress Dove Cameron and actor Ryan McCartan break up, just six months post their engagement.

The news came as shock to the fans, when McCartan, 23, revealed on Twitter and posted that he and actress Dove Cameron have parted ways. "Dove has decided this relationship isn't what she wants," Ryan McCartan tweeted.

The actor, then asked his fans to stay by his side as this is very painful for him. "We still love each other very much. Please be sensitive, as this is painful."

Later in the day, the actor came up with another post thanking his fans for their support. "I love you all. Thanks for keeping me up."

Earlier, Dove Cameron had stated "We were both very clear with each other that it was like, 'I know you're my person. You know you're my person. There's nobody else, My whole family was like, 'We like him more than you, so figure it out.'"

About a month earlier Ryan McCartan had said that the couple were not heading for a marriage, as they had a lot of time in hand and they are quite busy in their professional lives.

"She's so busy. I'm so busy. The last thing we want to do is turn it into another thing on the to-do list, you know what I mean? I mean, we're infants - we're children - so we have a lot of time to plan and get it done, and it'll happen when it's supposed to."
