Watch! Ellen DeGeneres Wins Favorite Humanitarian At The Annual People's Choice Awards 2016

The 57 years old comedian is known for her philanthropic and charitable works. The Award ceremony that happened yesterday, January 6, 2015, had an award to offer Ellen based on fan voting. Ellen DeGeneres wins Favorite Humanitarian at People's Choice Awards 2016.

Clad in black suit, Ellen sat next to her beloved wife Portia De Rossi as she was called on the stage to accept the award. The honours were done by the 'Mike & Molly' star Melissa McCarthy, who is also one of Ellen's best friends.

Being as generous as always, Ellen directed the entire donation received by Walgreen to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, which came with the award. The honours came with an amount of $2,00,000. The ceremony took place at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

As usual, where there is Ellen, there is tremendous amount of laughter and happiness. In her acceptance speech, the comedian said, 'It's a little strange to get an award for being nice and generous and kind, which is what we're all supposed to do to one another,'

To entertain the audience more, Ellen had a surprise present for them, which was rather a feast for the eyes. She showed them a shirtless picture of the 'Thor' actor Chris Hemsworth. Ellen said:

'You know, here's the thing, awards are great. But what really makes me happy is making other people happy. And tonight, I'd want to make you happy, so to share with you I've brought a shirtless photo of Chris Hemsworth to share.'
