Grammys 2016: Rihanna Cancels & Lauryn Hill Drops Out
The 58th annual Grammys 2016 was filled with spectacular performances by the biggest faces in the music industry. But, it lacked two artists. Rihanna canceled Grammys 2016 an hour before the event began.
The other musician whose performance was highly anticipated was Lauryn Hill. News reports hold that the singer backed out in the end moment even after rehearsing with The Weeknd.
The Unfaithful singer was alleged to perform 'Kiss It Better' from her album 'Anti' at the Grammys 2016. According to reports of TMZ, the singer had to pull back in the end moment due to persistent case of bronchitis.
One of her representatives said, that the doctor has 'put her on vocal rest for 48 hours because she was at risk of hemorrhaging her vocal chords.'
While this was the reason behind Rihanna canceling her performance, Lauryn Hill's representative said that the singer couldn't perform due to premature communication from Grammy's end.
The singer was supposed to perform with The Weeknd for his debut Grammys performance. Looks like Lauryn's absence didn't make a huge difference to The Weeknd after all!
One of Lauryn's representative said, 'The Grammy's announced a performance by Ms. Lauryn Hill prematurely and without approval.'
'Ms. Hill had concerts all weekend, leaving no time to prepare, and was uncertain she would even be able to make it to LA in time to rehearse for the event.' They continued.
What was surprising was the fact that Lauryn was seen at the rehearsals alongside The Weeknd. It wasn't long until people started pointed at this on Twitter!
