The Poker Face singer had an emotional moment while performing her Oscar nominated song Til It Happens To You at the Producers Guild Awards. Lady Gaga spoke about her aunt who was a victim of sexual abuse.

Talking about the brutal incident that took away her aunt's life, Gaga told what significance the song holds to her and her family. At the event that took place on January 24, 2016, in Los Angeles, the singer said,

'It's not only an important issue to me, but it's an important issue to my family,'

'When my father's sister was in college, she was sexually assaulted. Then, it tormented her so emotionally that it caused the lupus that she had to get so bad that she died.'

She co-wrote the song with Daine Warren for the campus rape documentary The Hunting Ground. The song is very close to her heart because of what her aunt Joanne went through.

The six times Grammy winner took to the Piano for an emotional rendition of the song Til It Happens To You, after thanking Warren whom she loves very much.
