Having
larger
than
life
events
in
movies,
is
a
huge
task.
Film-makers
find
it
real
difficult
to
pull
off
fantasies
on
the
big
screens.
In
the
early
days,
people
had
to
build
sets
and
do
heavy
make-up
for
the
characters
and
a
lot
of
co-ordination
from
the
animation
teams
were
involved
in
bringing
the
sets
and
characters
to
life.
The
technologies
grew,
so
did
the
cinema.
Computers
were
used
to
design
the
sets
and
construct
and
now
with
all
the
latest
technologies,
the
graphics
and
animation
look
close
to
realistic.
Movies
like
Avatar
and
Narnia
are
simply
fantastic,
a
visual
treat.
But
despite
the
growth
in
the
technology,
the
huge
budget
hollywood
movies
and
their
CGI
effects
were
not
on
par
with
others
considering
the
money
involved.
Such
blockbusters
with
poor
CGI
effects
have
simply
brought
down
the
impact
of
the
movie.
We
shall
look
at
these
hollywood
movies
with
CGI
effects
that
affected
the
whole
movie
watching
experience.
Deep
Blue
Sea
(1999)
Samuel
L
Jackson's
death
in
the
movie
is
so
unrealistic
that
it
looks
like
a
badly
adapted
scene
from
the
much
earlier
movies.
The
Shark
itself
was
unrealistic
with
gigantic
teeth
and
horrible
eye
makeover.
The
Mummy
Returns
(2001)
Probably
one
of
the
worst
CGI
effects
in
recent
times.
With
a
high
budget
movie
having
a
huge
star
cast,
this
movie
was
expected
to
have
better
CGI
effects,
instead
they
settled
for
a
low
budget
animation.
With
Dwayne
Johnson
as
the
scorpion
king
in
the
climax
scene,
the
poor
graphics
shows
this
flaw
very
evidently.
They
look
like
video
game
characters
rather
than
any
realistic
characters.
Catwoman
(2002)
This
spin
off
movie
was
ill-fated
due
to
its
poor
editing
and
special
effects.
Instead
of
animating
certain
parts
of
the
action
sequences,
the
graphics
team
decided
to
animate
Halle
Berry
as
whole
and
the
result
was
yet
another
video
game
like
visual
rather
than
real
life
believable
character.
Hulk
(2003)
Perhaps
Marvel's
disappointment
in
the
last
decade
is
this
forgettable
movie.
Although
the
plot
line
was
cohesive,
the
graphics
were
not.
The
hulk
looked
like
a
rubber
giant
playing
with
his
toys.
The
fantasy
superhero
turned
out
to
be
another
lame
attempt
of
poor
graphics
and
animation
attempt.
King
Kong
(2005)
This
2005
reboot
of
the
classic
King
Kong
has
many
flaws
in
the
movie
screenplay.
The
actors
acting
infront
of
the
green
screens
is
clearly
noticeable
from
their
facial
expressions
and
body
language
despite
the
meager
efforts
of
the
animation
team
to
do
a
convincing
job.
The
actors
have
no
eye
co-ordination
with
the
animated
dinosaurs
and
it
all
look
real
fake.
I
Am
Legend
(2007)
This
movie
featuring
Will
Smith
is
set
in
the
future
where
he's
the
last
man
alive.
The
zombies
in
the
movie
are
all
animated
and
they
don't
look
scary
at
all.
The
director
instead
of
casting
real
actors
to
play
the
zombies,
decided
to
go
full
on
graphics
and
the
result
was
insanely
ridiculous.
Indiana
Jones
And
The
Kingdom
Of
Crystal
Skull
(2008)
Despite
the
high
budget,
and
with
Steven
Spielberg
directing
this
movie,
this
movie
was
far
behind
in
the
graphics
department.
Most
of
the
scenes
looked
fake
and
animated.
Right
from
the
first
scene,
graphics
is
very
evident
and
not
a
convincing
one
at
best.
Anaconda
3:
Offspring
(2008)
This
movie
is
poorly
executed
in
every
way.
The
giant
snake
looks
out
of
place
and
looks
like
it's
made
of
rubber.
The
lighting
effects
for
the
snake
is
visually
unpleasant.
The
artificial
acting
of
the
actors
add
to
the
movie
not
making
it
big
on
the
screens.
X-Men
Origins:
Wolverine
(2009)
Wolverine's
claws
were
so
artificial
that
it
never
at
any
instant
looked
like
they
were
coming
out
his
hand
but
rather
superimposed
during
post
production.
Again
with
big
guns
like
Marvel
involved,
one
can
at
least
expect
a
visually
appealing
graphics.
This
movie
was
a
disaster
in
the
animation
department.
Green
Lantern
(2011)
This
High
Budget
movie
of
$
200
million,
fell
really
short
in
the
animation
category.
The
green
suit
was
so
animated
that
half
the
movie
Ryan
Reynolds
looked
like
a
game
character
rather
than
a
super
hero.
With
DC
behind
this
project,
one
can
expect
at
least
a
decent
amount
of
graphics
involved
in
projecting
a
superhero.
The
movie
didn't
do
well
in
the
box
office
for
poor
screenplay
and
over
use
of
graphics
that
made
the
characters
goofy.
