frustrating

see

actresses

"thankless
roles" to
play
in
movies.
"I've
just
had
enough.
Things
have
to
change,
we
have
to
start
seeing
women
as
they
really
are
on
film.
We
have
to.
And
not
just
in
movie
theaters
on
a
tiny
budget." Witherspoon
stated
during
a
press
event
recently.

in

latest
HBO
series
titled
Big
Little
Lies,
starring
alongside
Shailene
Woodley,
Nicole
Kidman,
and
Laura
Dern.
The
series
has
been
Directed
by
Jean-Marc
Vallee,
the
renowned
Canadian
director.
"We
need
to
see
real
women's
experience,
whether
it
involves
domestic
violence,
whether
it
involves
sexual
assault,
whether
it
involves
motherhood
or
romance
or
infidelity
or
divorce,"
said
Witherspoon
in
a
statement.
Talking
about
her
role
in
the
series,
Witherspoon
said,
the
series
tries
to
explore
the
every
spectrum
of
a
woman's
life.
"It
explores
so
many
aspects
that
are
relatable
to
the
lives
of
women;
it
wasn't
about
them
being
good
or
bad
-
they
showed
every
spectrum
and
every
color
of
women's
lives.
It
presented
a
unique
opportunity
to
have
so
many
incredible
parts
for
women
in
one
piece
of
material,"
said
the
actress.
