Garth Davis Puts Dev Patel Through Hell For The Movie Lion
The director, Garth Davis, says that he has put actor Dev Patel through hell for his movie Lion, as he wanted to see how prepared he was for the role.
The renowned Australian film, television, and commercial director Garth Davis says that he had put the actor "Dev Patel through hell" for his latest movie titled Lion. He said he did that intentionally, to make sure that the actor gets the necessary preparation for the daunting role.
Talking about the film and the tough auditioning process, Garth Davis said, "I just wanted to see if Dev could do something that wasn't Marigold Hotel."

"I put him through hell in his house in London, we had this acting workshop and he was just astonishing in that room." The director said in a statement.
The movie Lion narrates the true story of a young Indian boy named Brierley (Dev), who gets separated and from his mother, brother and family and ends up being 1000 miles away from his native place and finally gets himself lost at a train station in Kolkata.
He then gets adopted and taken by an Australian family, later on. But, years later the boy finally finds out his lost family and home via Google maps. The films aims at understanding the human values, emotions and the journey to rediscover oneself.
Apart form Dev Patel as the title character, the film also features Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman, along with David Wenham and Rooney Mara.
