actor
Pierce
Brosnan
opens
up
about
his
sadness,
mental
struggle
and
share
of
heartbreak
in
his
life
as
he
lost
both
his
wife
and
daughter
due
to
cancer.
"I
don't
look
at
the
cup
as
half
full,
believe
me.
The
dark,
melancholy
Irish
black
dog
sits
beside
me
from
time
to
time." Said
Pierce
Brosnan
in
a
statement
during
an
interview.
Ovarian
cancer
is
the
root
of
his
pain
as
the
actor
lost
his
wife,
Cassandra
Harris,
in
the
year
1991
and
then
his
dearest
daughter
Charlotte
Brosnan,
in
the
year
2013
due
to
this
disease.
Brosnan
also
said
that
he
lacked
bonding
with
his
father
and
he
wished
his
father
had
spent
more
time
with
him
during
his
childhood.
"I
know
what
it's
like
to
bring
up
sons,
and
it
can
be
a
very
arduous
road.
My
fatherly
instincts
are
purely
my
own.
They
relate
back
to
no
one
because
there
was
no
one." Said
the
actor.
"I
had
a
Sunday
afternoon
with
him," he
said.
"A
story
about
this
and
that
had
a
few
pints
of
Guinness,
and
we
said
goodbye.
I
would
have
loved
to
have
known
him.
He
was
a
good
whistler
and
he
had
a
good
walk
...
that's
as
much
as
I
know
about
him."
He
added.
"You
don't
need
a
big
home,
you
need
a
good
table
to
sit
at,
a
good
bed
to
sleep
in,
a
view,
and
a
great
bottle
of
wine."
Pierce
Brosnan
stated
further.
