La La Land Touches All Time Record For Most Nominations In Oscars

It seems La La Land is not done with sweeping the highest number of awards at the 74th Golden Globe Awards earlier this month.

The Award-hungry film has returned to devour the maximum awards in the 89th Oscars to be held in February by getting the most number of nominations, which only two films have done in the past.

The romantic musical film in the genre of comedy-drama, starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling in the leads has been named for 14 Academy Awards in different categories. The only other movies to have achieved this feat are All About Eve in 1950 and Titanic in 1997.

"I am so grateful for this honor and I'm so happy to share this feeling with my 'La La Land' family," said Emma Stone, who also got nominated for the Best Actress.

"I'm also overjoyed that the movie has connected with audiences in the way it has, and that it's hopefully putting a kick in their step to those who watch it." "This is beyond any of our wildest imaginings and we can't wait to celebrate together." Said the actress.

The film grabbed the nominations in Best Direction, Best Picture, Cinematography, Best Actor, Sound Editing, Best Actress, Sound Mixing, Costume Design, Production Design, Original Score, Film Editing, Original Screenplay.

It also got nominations for its two songs "City of Stars" and "Audition (The Fools Who Dream)"

"I am so humbled and grateful for the nominations," said director Damien Chazelle.

"I am thrilled that the Academy is celebrating the work of Emma and Ryan, who brought these characters to life with such humanity and depth, and also the work of my college roommate Justin who created the beautiful music." The director added.
