Shocking! Hugh Jackman Reveals Why He Decided To Step Down As Wolverine

I was expecting a little more resistance from the studio, says Hugh Jackman about his unexpected departure from portraying Wolverine on screen.

The upcoming Hugh Jackman movie Logan not only tags Hugh Jackman's 9th occasion as Wolverine, but it also bids farewell to the beloved mutant character since he drew his claws first back in 2000.

But what is the exact reason which made the actor leave this mutant character on a high, and when it is still one of the hottest characters to play in the super-hero movie genre at present?

Well, according to Hugh Jackman, it is Jerry Seinfeld who inspired him to reach the decision to hang up his boots as Wolverine.

Jerry Seinfeld, who himself suddenly ended up his show back in 1998, when it was still a very popular watch on TV, said he wanted to leave his audience wanting for more. This inspired Hugh Jackman to do the same with playing Wolverine.

"He doesn't particularly like parties, and I'm a little the same. So we always end up in a corner chatting. I started asking about Seinfeld. Jerry said: 'I always had a belief that creatively you should leave on a high.' Not just for legacy, though I'm sure that was part of it." Said Jackman.

"But he said that if you are tapped out, it's Herculean to work out what the next thing is. If you leave something in the tank creatively, then you just spark onto the next thing. I went home from that dinner, and I just knew. That was it." Jackman added.

Another reason Hugh Jackman cited for his unwanted Wolverine departure is that lack of resistance from the studio.

"I was expecting a little more resistance, I suppose, at the studio level. But I didn't get that at all." stated Hugh Jackman.
